Cubbington Parish Council Neighbourhood Plan

“Your chance to shape the future of Cubbington”

The Parish Council would like to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for Cubbington (Cubbington & New Cubbington) and would value the comments and support from as many residents as possible.

What is a Neighbourhood Plan?

It gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape development, growth and facilities in their local area.

Why does the parish of Cubbington need a Neighbourhood Plan?

Cubbington (old & new) is designated a “growth village” in the Warwick District Council Local Plan 2011-2029. During its preparation, significant green belt areas to the West and East of Cubbington were identified, with landowners ready to sell to developers but this land was not incorporated within the current plan

Cubbington is currently surrounded by green belt but real pressures may come to bear in the next 5-10 years due to our location to major road networks, Coventry Airport Megafactory/ Jaguar Land Rover / University of Warwick and potential removal of green belt designation post HS2 construction.

if we want to preserve and enhance our community, if we want a collective voice and influence going forward – we need a plan.

How is the Plan developed?

The Plan involves a consultation exercise over many months. Everybody over the age of 16 will have the opportunity to complete a confidential survey along with a specific one for businesses. These are then analysed independently and used to shape the content of the plan constructed around what residents believe important to them and their families. As the plan develops public meetings will be held at key stages to both inform and seek feedback. Many local Neighbourhood Plans already exist and can be found on the Warwick District website

What’s next?

For the Parish Council to proceed, we wish to gauge the appetite for such a plan from all residents and welcome anybody who would like to be actively involved. We estimate that up to 3000 residents (16 and over) are eligible to take part in the survey.

Please email us to register your interest or just to express support or otherwise for the plan. If you don’t have internet access, there will be a collection box in the Costcutters store and Post Office where you can post a note.

If you have specific questions we will do our best to answer them and keep residents informed over the next few months.
